Performance Animation

TASKS

1) Students will animate a short acting scene with their chosen 3D Character Rig, including lip clear and accurate lip sync to a brief dialogue sample and emotive facial expressions.

2) Students must combine this acting shot with their previous 2 assignments (Animation Principles and Body Mechanics) to create a smoothly integrated animation sequence which conveys an engaging narrative.  This will typically involve modifying Cycles, adding breakdown poses, incorporating secondary action and exaggerating animation as required.

3) Students must also create or refine the virtual camera in their animation sequence - building on their previsualization pass - to effectively stage the action, including framing, animation and shot transitions.

4) Students need to render their final 3D animation as an image sequence, and then import this into editing software such as Adobe Premier to add sound FX, final dialogue and a title screen. Adding suitable dramatic music is optional.
