Body Mechanics
TASKS
1. Students must select or source an approved 3D Character Rig to use for their Body Mechanics exercises. The Rig must be a bipedal humanoid, and include a comprehensive Facial Rig, with controls for facial expressions and mouth shapes for lip sync.
2. Students must complete and submit a series of 3D Animation Cycles to demonstrate effective Body Mechanics. These Animation Cycles are typically utilized in games, but they can also be applied in a cinematic style narrative sequence (which students will create for their final assignment):
a) Idle Cycle
b) Walk Cycle
c) Run Cycle
d) One Additional Action - Jump, Attack, Take Hit or Die
Animations may be as exaggerated and stylised as students want - they may be cartoony or realistic, but whatever the style, they should be consistent and need to work with each other. Durations of the cycles are up to each student to manage.
